Blouse
“Into Black”
If I told you this was an overlooked gem from 1983 that I ripped from a cassette…would you believe me?
Well, it’s not.
Possessing all the charm and aesthetic of the aforementioned era, this is the first single off Portland trio Blouse’s gorgeous self-titled debut LP.
Released on Captured Tracks earlier this month, don’t wait any longer to check them out. (via)
McWolf
“Feel It Out”
I would have so rocked this track when I was ten while I played with G.I. Joe’s on my bedroom floor. I would have been stoked too, it would have been my jam.
There really is so much delightful as fuckness when it comes to McWolf which is the side project of Welly Netto (of ABADABAD, Rodeo Church). The 4 track self titled EP up at Bandcamp is just chock full of goodies. I’m very much in head over heels love with the eargasm Feel It Out. McWolf (can’t express how much I think this name is brilliant) is for fans of Abadabad, Surfer Blood, Bombay Bicycle Club and The Drums. If you are smitten too you can download the entire album for a name your price value over at Bandcamp!
Because when it’s getting tough I’m gonna feel it out…
Moon Tides
“1966”
Cool little lo-fi nostalgic cut from the Colorado duo.
It’s the perfect soundtrack to looking back on last year while getting pumped for all the awesome new stuff this year will bring.
Frankie Rose
“Know Me”
Former Vivian Girl/Dum Dum Girl/Crystal Stilt Frankie Rose dropped this rad first single yesterday from her forthcoming LP Interstellar, out on Slumberland Feb 21.
Decks
“Ghost Girl”
I know nothing about this New Jersey band Decks. But I do know that I am diggin this lo-fi psych-pop, Ariel Pink-esq Helix Street EP of theirs that I found on bandcamp. Get it.
