Stand Up Against Heart Crime

“I Can’t Stand Myself Sober”

I find Josep Xorto’s bedroom EP curriosly addictive.  The vibe is mellow but possess a smoldering intensity just under the surface.  The vintage drum machine never breaks and Josep’s voice is cool as if he can not believe he showed to actually record his vocals, and was like “oh well, I guess I’ll just be awesome”. Get it.

Lotte Kestner

“True Faith” (New Order Cover)

Love this.

Here is the OG version.

Check out danceyrselfclean, great blog

danceyrselfclean:

Lotte Kestner, True Faith (New Order cover found on her fantastic covers album “Stolen”)

Really Lotte Kestner has so won me over and I’m pretty certain she can sing her order at a Chinese restaurant and I’d want to play it on repeat.  I definitely would love to hear her duet with Matt Berniger, her version of “Fake Empire” is pretty epic and well she can do some New Order like the best of them too.  ”True Faith” sounds damn great with Lotte at the covering helm.  Seriously check this one out!

Black Cab

“Combat Boots”

Below is the google translation of grrrizzly’s post.  Obviously, something is lost in translation, tho the music speaks very clearly for itself.  It says..”I’m awesome”

“What a day … What a struggle to stay up! Gravitational forces and virtual have very nearly put me down again. My penchant for sleeping cost me birth!”

grrrizzly:

[MP3] // Black Cab - “Combat Boots”

Quelle journée… Quel combat pour rester debout ! Les forces gravitationnelles et virtuelles ont bien failli me mettre une nouvelle fois à terre. Mon penchant pour le couchage m’a couté… Accouché !

Go Cozy

“Glimmer”

So this track showed up in my inbox the other day.  I LOVE submissions but usually they are spam or someone running before they have learned to walk.  Not the case here.  The Silver Springs, Maryland four piece have a real dream pop gem with “Glimmer”.

Get you hands on this last days of summer day dreamer at their bandcamp.

****FLASHBACK FRIDAY****

Talk Talk

“It’s My Life”

This is one of those Pandora/Sirius radio jams that pop up during an 80’s mix that your like oh damn…this is rad.  It’s a bona fide roller skating jam.

Rising from the English new romantic/synthpop scene of the early 80’s, Talk Talk scored two big singles in 1984 with their second LP It’s My Life.  The title cut was Talk Talk’s most successful US single reaching number one on the Hot Dance Play charts…it’s still pretty slick.

No Doubt did a cover of “It’s My Life” for their greatest hits in 2003…it also does not suck.

McWolf

“Feel It Out”

I would have so rocked this track when I was ten while I played with G.I. Joe’s on my bedroom floor.  I would have been stoked too, it would have been my jam.

There really is so much delightful as fuckness when it comes to McWolf which is the side project of Welly Netto (of ABADABAD, Rodeo Church).  The 4 track self titled EP up at Bandcamp is just chock full of goodies.  I’m very much in head over heels love with the eargasm Feel It Out.  McWolf (can’t express how much I think this name is brilliant) is for fans of Abadabad, Surfer Blood, Bombay Bicycle Club and The Drums.  If you are smitten too you can download the entire album for a name your price value over at Bandcamp!

Because when it’s getting tough I’m gonna feel it out…
