Native Slacker

“Native Slacker”

What is going on in San Diego?  Or what is going on with me liking everything I hear from there?  Let’s make a list:

1.  The weather is outstanding.

2.  San Diego means whale’s vagina.

3. The Mission Cafe has awesome Huevos Rancheros Verde.

Also, the band Native Slacker is from there and if you like drone-y punk’d fuzzed out slackerable tunes, then you might dig this.  You might even dig San Diego. Get it.

Motive

“Nobody Eats My Dinner”

I love the raw Nirvana meets Strokes vibe of this single from Brooklyn’s Motive.  It is classic self-loathing slacker rock with a hint of fuck off and a smile.  I might be biased because I mixed this cut, but I don’t think so.

Get it.

Zulu Pearls

“Magic Tricks”

Berlin via Washington D.C. based Zach Van Hoozer aka Zulu Pearls sweeps in to the US this week to play a few East Coast dates including two In NYC.  Tonight you can catch them at Bowery Electric and tomorrow at Glasslands.

Their new LP No Hereos No Honeymoons,  is an infectious bit of 70’s inspired slacker pop, it really compliments a sunny day of drinking.
